EL DERECHO A LA MONEDA ESTABLE EN MÉXICO (THE RIGHT TO A STABLE CURRENCY IN MEXICO)

Abstract

The mexican peso, like many other currencies in the world, has lost its purchasing power, but this loss has, among other things, to do with the evolution of money. Money has gone through many phases, from cash to it´s merely digital way.

The loss of purchasing power that we are currently experiencing has been mainly caused because the very nature of money has changed, regardless of whether it is the dollar, yuan, mexican peso, rubles, rupees, euros, etc.

This same change in the intrinsic nature of money has caused the mexican peso to become much more volatile in order to retain its purchasing power, thus generating more poverty among the citizens of this country.

The purchasing power of the peso in the 20TH. century was not the same as the one we are dealing with nowadays, among other things due to the economic blunders committed since the 70s.
