LEGAL, ECONOMIC, AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS OF THE ISTHMUS OF TEHUANTEPEC IN THE AREAS OF WIND FARMS FROM THE THEORY OF RISK

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to expose the reality and the legal, economic and cultural risks present in the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in the territorial areas where the wind farms were installed to question the Corporate Social Responsibility of the multinational wind companies that own the wind turbines. Through a qualitative methodology based on the selection and analysis of sources of experts in the area, both theoretical and subjects of direct affectation by the problem. The originality is exposed from the theory of risk that states that, due to globalization and the use of human needs, natural resources are exploited, and this has as a response the production of risks in society (legal, economic, and environmental), identifying among the main conclusions, the urgency of addressing this problem due to the risks it generates as well as the violation of rights that can entail long-term. As for the limitations, it is about the exploration of documentary sources to identify the problem and its main difficulties of access to it through virtual platforms.
