STRUCTURAL DISCRIMINATION AGAINST TRANS PEOPLE IN MEXICO

Abstract

The group of transgender people is in a situation of vulnerability due to the structural discrimination that they have historically suffered, since they do not fit into the social norm of cisgender identity. The objective of this document is to reflect on the challenges that this group faces in Mexico in different social spheres, which affect their human rights. The methodology followed is qualitative, through the analysis of legal and doctrinal documentary sources, as well as personal experiences with trans people. As a result, it is identified that systemic discrimination against the group of trans people is a deep and complex phenomenon that requires a comprehensive approach to eradicate it through the promulgation of legal norms, the issuance of judicial rulings and the implementation of policies that promote the equality and non-discrimination.
